25 Oct MCF to increase match for Match Week 2023
Moundridge – The Moundridge Community Foundation’s (MCF) annual matching event is entering its ninth year of helping build the endowments of local partnering non-profits. Match Week will take place during the week of Nov. 6-10. A total of $62,084.78 was raised during the event last year, which was a record for MCF.
This year, thanks to a grant from the Patterson Family Foundation, Match Week will see an increase in its matching total from $20,000 in 2022 to $70,000 for 2023.
“This event is an opportunity for organizations to build a strong endowment that will help with permanent funding,” Becky Goss, President and CEO of partner foundation McPherson County Community Foundation said, “They will receive immediate funding by leveraging the grant dollars.”
Matching funds are given to organizations based on a proportional basis. If $100,000 is raised during the week and an organization received 10% of the total donations, they will receive $7,000 to use for immediate needs.
Donations to participating organizations can be given in-person on November 9 from 3 pm to 7 pm at The Hub.
Online donations can be made through the Foundations portal until midnight of Nov. 10th. A link to the portal can be found on the Foundation’s Facebook Page.
Required Minimum Distribution gifts can be made from your IRA to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution as long as a donation form is filled out by Nov. 10. Funds from IRA accounts do not have to be transferred immediately and will be accepted by the foundation up until Dec. 31.
For 2023 there will be 12 organizations participating. A full list of participating organizations can be found here.
